Hayley Turner, the UK’S leading female jockey, also voted as William Hill’s Sportswoman of the Year 2011, Jaguar’s Most Influential Sportswoman of the year 2011 and Glamour Magazine’s  Sportswoman of the Year 2012, has chosen to become the official ‘Racing Ambassador’ for Goodwood Racecourse, part of England’s Greatest Sporting Estate, for 2013.

Goodwood Racecourse, set high in the Sussex Downs, is renowned as being one of the most beautiful settings for horse racing in the UK. The looped course hosts around 130 flat races each season, including two highly-regarded Group 1 races (QIPCO Sussex States and the Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes), six Group 2s and eight Group 3s annually -  the opening race meeting is this Saturday 4th May 2013. 

Hayley Turner, who had three wins at Goodwood last year, is looking forward toinforming racing fans about the events in which she is participating as well as commenting on fixtures and other events at Goodwood throughout the season. She will also be sharing her ‘Top Tips’ for every race in the Goodwood Race-card. Hayley is particularly looking forward to her involvement in this year’s Magnolia Cup where she will be helping the female celebrity/women in business riders in their training during the build up to this charity race which is taking place on Ladies Day at Glorious Goodwood, Thursday 1st August, 2013.

Having celebrated her first win at Goodwood in 2008, the same year that she became the first female jockey to ride 100 UK Flat winners during a calendar year, Hayley has become a recognisable presence at Goodwood ever since.  “To be an ambassador for Goodwood Racecourse is a great honour for me”, says Hayley. “I always love riding here, it is such a unique track and is one of the most beautiful courses that I have ridden at around the world.  It will be fun for me to be sharing my passions with others, at some of my favourite sporting fixtures – the May Festival, Glorious Goodwood and the August Bank Holiday Meeting.”
