Brian, born in Co Armagh, Ireland, initially set out to pursue a career as a Flat jockey before turning his hand to National Hunt racing where he’s excelled, taking the UK by storm. Brian moved to the North of England in 2005 and has since established himself as the top Northern-based jump jockey, winning the Northern Jump Jockey of the Year title for the last five seasons and becoming the first Northern-based jockey to win the jump jockey’s Championship since Jonjo O’Neill in 1980.
Brian’s rise to the top has consisted of 20 Graded race wins including a Grade 1 victory in the 2018 Ascot Chase on the Ruth Jefferson trained
Waiting Patiently and three Cheltenham Festival winners.
