Britain’s most successful female jockey

Hayley is Britain’s most successful female jockey and the first woman to ride 100 winners in a British season. She was the first female rider to win a British Group 1 (the 2011 July Cup) and added further top-level wins on Margot Did and, in the USA, I’m A Dreamer. After a first retirement in 2015 she returned in 2018, winning at Royal Ascot for the first time in 32 years on Thanks Be, and in 2023 became the first female jockey to ride 1,000 winners. Awarded an OBE in the 2016 Birthday Honours, Hayley retired from the saddle in April 2025 and is now a key part of the ITV Racing team.
