Hayley Turner OBE

Hayley received an OBE for services to racing in 2015

Hayley is Britain’s most successful female jockey and the first female jockey to ride over 100 winners in a season. In 2011 Hayley made history becoming the first female jockey to win a British Group 1, the Newmarket’s July Cup. She has since added two Group/Grade 1s on Margot Did and Beverley D, the latter came in the USA which was another first.

Haley retired from the saddle at the end of the 2015 and established a media career with At The Races and ITV Racing. However, she returned to the saddle again in 2018 and since returning, became the first female rider to win a race at Royal Ascot for 32 years aboard Thanks Be in the Sandringham Handicap in 2019. She followed up in the same race in 2020 aboard the Charlie Fellowes-trained Onassis.
