Hayley Turner OBE

Hayley received an OBE for services to racing in 2015

Hayley is Britain’s most successful female jockey and the first female jockey to ride over 100 winners in a season. In 2011, Hayley made history when she became the first female jockey to win a British Group 1 in the G1 July Cup at Newmarket. She has since added two Group/Grade 1s on Margot Did and Beverley D, the latter came in the USA which was another first.

Haley retired from the saddle at the end of the 2015 and established a media career with At The Races and ITV Racing. However, she returned to racing again in 2018 and since returning, became the first female rider to win a race at Royal Ascot for 32 years aboard Thanks Be in the Sandringham Handicap in 2019 before following up in the same race aboard the Charlie Fellowes-trained Onassis in 2020. In 2021, Hayley reached yet another milestone as she became the first female jockey to ride 900 winners when steering Master Milliner to victory at York.
