Richard Hannon started his career as an assistant to his father, the four-time British champion trainer Richard Hannon Snr. He took over the licence in 2014 and, in his first season, Richard was crowned Champion Trainer.

Richard has had at least one Group 1 success in six of his first seven seasons he’s been training. Barney Roy won the 2017 St James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and Billesdon Brook gaining a second Classic success in the 2018 1000 Guineas. In 2019, Richard had 149 wins including the Sun Chariot Stakes with Billesdon Brook and the QEII Stakes at Ascot with King of Change.
