Classic-winning trainer

Richard trains over 200 horses at the state-of-the-art Herridge Racing Stables in Wiltshire, with a satellite yard at Everleigh. From a genuine training dynasty (his father, Richard Hannon Sr, was a four-time Champion Trainer and his grandfather Harry a trainer before that), he took over the yard in 2013 and was crowned Champion Trainer in his very first season. He won the 2,000 Guineas with Night of Thunder in 2014 and, more recently, sent out the brilliant three-time Group 1 winner Rosallion, successful in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes before retiring to stud in 2026, and continues to produce top-class winners at home and abroad.
