Richard Kingscote

Being able to call yourself a Derby-winning jockey is not something every rider has the privilege of, but Richard Kingscote enjoyed his finest hour in the saddle when he steered Desert Crown to Classic glory in 2022. In the days leading up to the race, Sir Michael Stoute described him as “a very talented rider, very professional and very astute.”

With over 1,500 winners to his name during a career spanning 20 years, Kingscote has ridden not just for the legendary Sir Michael Stoute, but also William Haggas, Ralph Beckett and Tom Dascombe whose stable he was retained rider to for a number of years. The respect Kingscote has amongst his industry colleagues shows the esteem he is held in.
