Johnno Spence

Following a grounding in PR at Craigie Taylor International (now CAA), where his first clients included Vodafone and The Famous Grouse, Johnno set up JSC Comms in 2004 and remains its CEO. Johnno’s wide industry contacts and

thorough understanding of the media landscape has enabled him to establish JSC Comms as one of the most creative and reputable sports and consumer PR agencies in the UK.

Anthony Minoprio

Anthony began his career at IMG in their media research and analysis division.

A JSC employee for ten years, and with over 20 years’ experience in reaching audiences through sport, Anthony sits on the JSC board and consults across all areas of the business and its clients.

Emma Firth

Emma joined JSC in 2023 after a hiatus from working to raise her family.  Her previous role was in the City where she looked after Events and Sponsorship for a major broking house.

Hugo Barran

Hugo started his career in the pool betting arena at Colossus Bets before moving to JSC in 2015.

An eagle eye for compelling behind the scenes sporting narratives, he works on accounts for Unibet, 32Red and London Racecourses.

Liam Hedgecock

Liam graduated from the University of Sunderland with a first class degree in BA Sports Journalism & joined JSC Comms in 2021. Before he graduated, Liam had accrued a wealth of experience in the Horse Racing industry by working for companies such as Sporting Life, Sky Sports Racing & NE-Bet.

With a keen eye for the latest trends in social media, Liam works on a broad range of accounts as a Digital Account Executive.

Sam Lawrie

Sam started his career working as part of the production team on Channel 4 Racing and Racing UK, before spending 10 years as a Senior Producer at the Racing Post.

Sam’s meticulous and creative work both behind the camera and in the editing suite delivers outstanding video content for clients and the media.

Tessa Champion

Tessa joined JSC in 2017 and has since put her creative eye to good use, bringing in fresh ideas for sport and lifestyle PR campaigns across a variety of accounts including Qatar Racing and Newbury Racecourse.

Tessa handles Client Representation and excels in strategic talent placement in broadcast, digital and print outlets.

Emma Chamings

Emma graduated from the Royal Agricultural University and joined JSC in 2016.

A talented equestrian rider (and vocalist) in her own right, Emma leads pre, onsite and post-event PR for major events such as the Derby Festival and Glorious Goodwood.

George Smyly

George Smyly joined JSC in 2015 after working at Arqana in Deauville.

Experienced in digital media, George manages accounts including Bahrain and Goodwood, as well as leading on JSC’s client representation activity.

Jamie Hales

Jay’s passion for racing and horses drove him to first pick up a camera in early 2019, filming at yards whenever his day job permitted!  His natural ability to tell stories through videography was evident from the start and his work can now often be seen on TV and playing out at racetracks on the big screens.

Lucy Swiers

After graduating from Loughborough University, Lucy worked at Sports Marketing Agency Limelight Sports for a number of years.

Following stints at the BHA and Gordon-Watson Bloodstock, Lucy joined JSC in February 2022. Based in Lambourn, Lucy works across a variety of accounts including The Henry Cecil Open Weekend, Howden and Newbury Racecourse.

Sophie Kavanagh

With a degree in International Business Management, Sophie joined us from her previous role at Newbury Racecourse where she spent three years. 

Having grown up immersed in the bloodstock and racing industry in Ireland, Sophie combines that knowledge and experience with her passion for industry communications and PR.
